Ever since Daniel Lee took the creative helm, we can’t keep Bottega Veneta shoes in stock!

By now, you’ve probably heard that Bottega Veneta is back in style. The hashtag #newBottega has been trending for over a year, and luxury fashion lovers can’t get enough of the label’s new designs. Across categories for both women and men, the design team has created fresh interpretations of familiar bits of BV DNA—its woven intrecciato leather being the most prominent.

Bottega Veneta shoes are a newly-growing category, as the label was not as well known for its footwear in the past. Along with new leather accessories and bold ready to wear collections, several strong shoe designs have emerged to much fanfare.

The ‘BV Curve‘ sandal, made from supple padded, woven, and twisted nappa leather, for a knotted effect look, is just one of the new styles that has signaled a bold new direction for Bottega Veneta shoes. Past iterations of the intrecciato woven leather were flat and mostly two-dimensional.

Other models are equally in-demand and sell out quickly—from woven flat slides to heeled strappy sandals that evoke the cubism and sensuality of the 1990s.

For men, the story is similar. Market trends dictate that any brand have a distinctive sneaker design, so the Bottega Veneta shoes team dreamed up a rendition of the ‘chunky sneaker,’ which resulted in the Speedster shoe.

Drawing on traditional shapes and colors, but with the unique BV style, these calfskin sneakers are just the right combination of trendy and classical, something that could be worn as long as they look fly! Just don’t wear them to the gym.

Elsewhere in the mens range, Bottega’s designers again use the familiar woven leather motif, only with different scale and textures than before. Flat slippers and open-toed slides look casual and smart, but expensive.

We’re also loving new leather treatments and finishes, like these unstructured loafers in paper-like brushed lambskin—and they’re unlined for ultimate comfort, will mould to the shape of your foot with time.

Rather than presenting a commercially safe but ultimately bland collection, Daniel Lee and his design team have found a way to be true to the label’s 54-year legacy and give the people what they wanted: design themes that are fresh and new, exciting, and wearable. And instagram-able!
